About Us

Love and Legacy Quilts is owned by Jo Edwards (me!) and I live in Basingstoke, Hampshire with my husband (my in house tech support guy) and 3 children. I love rainbows, bees, woodland animals and other nature inspired designs, so these things regularly pop up in my quilts, and also in the fabric that I stock. I have always loved making pretty things, and have dabbled in many crafts, but once I discovered quilting I was hooked. Fabric makes me happy, whether it's buying it, admiring it, stroking it, or eventually getting around to chopping it up and making a quilt out of it, I love every stage! The shop is named in honour of my Mum, who also loved to sew and make pretty things. I can't share my quilts and sewing projects with her anymore, but I can remember her love and her legacy, plus like all quilters, each quilt that I make is truly a labour of love, so there simply couldn't have been a better name for my shop than Love and Legacy Quilts!

I stock a good range of Lewis and Irene fabrics and a small range of quilting supplies such as batting and stabilisers. I am often asked if I also sell the quilts I make, and usually the answer is no. Quilting is my hobby, and I sew for the love of it, so I do not want to become so busy with commissions and deadlines that it becomes a stressful 'job'. I do however make far more quilts than I could possibly ever use, and I do love to share my quilts around, so you may occasionally find some of my quilts and homewares listed in the shop.
